iRespect
“By promoting respect for others, you promote respect for yourself which is the most important.”
#iRespect is the Sendero Centre’s in-house awareness campaign, launched in 2014 and ongoing ever since. It has garnered widespread support across Red Deer and Central Alberta, with engagement from post-secondary campuses, students, businesses, individuals, media, community leaders, and local politicians. The campaign continues to inspire and promote a culture of respect and awareness throughout the community.
Why Respect?
The goal of #iRespect is to inspire everyone, as global citizens, to lead their lives and treat others with respect. This campaign aims to raise awareness, foster positive change, challenge the harmful norms associated with “rape culture,” and work towards the elimination of sexual violence.
By promoting respect for others, we also cultivate self-respect, a foundational element for creating a culture of dignity and care. Together, we can build a community grounded in mutual respect.
